Moosical fun for your little one:
Maggie Moo Music is a great fun and interactive regular music session for 0 to 5 year old children and their parents, grandparents or carers too, where the children sing, dance and play. Music is an essential part of every child's development and the 125 original Moo Music songs used at the sessions are positive, uplifting, fun and educational. The interactive sessions will help your child gain confidence and develop memory, language and coordination skills in an exciting, enjoyable and multi-sensory way. It's a great way to make new friends - both for the children and the adults too!
A bit about us...
Greetings! My name's Farmer Kellie and I'm happy to be bringing Moo Music to the Mackay region.
A little bit about myself.. I'm a qualified teacher and have taught in public and private schools over the past 21 years. For six of those years I taught English to children and adults in Germany, Italy and Japan. Before taking maternity leave I was an educator at CQU teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in the Adult Migrant English Program. Through my work with migrants, I convened Amnesty International Mackay and advocate on a volunteer basis for human rights.
I'm also a musician (voice, guitar, percussion). I'm passionate about music and have a four year old son who has learnt musicianship (and quite a bit of language!) from his exposure to music early in life. So when Maggie Moo Music came along, I jumped at the chance to incorporate my experience with adults, children and especially - music.
Regardless of whether you think you are talented or not, Maggie Moo Music Mackay is a non-judgemental space where you can sing, dance and be as silly as your little ones. Children gain skills, confidence, musicianship, rhythm, language and social fun with Maggie Moo Music classes. You'll soon find that Maggie Moo Music is just as much for your inner child as it is for your little one's - with the added bonus that Maggie Moo Music sessions are also a great way to meet up with other mums or dads and make new life-long friends. 🙏
And another added bonus.. as a mother of a child with a unique set of physical challenges, I have spent the last four years learning occupational and physical therapies as a byproduct of my son's therapies .. so when I plan sessions, I incorporate a lot of what I've learnt over the years to make your child's gross and fine motor skills as fluid as possible. I include occupational therapy concepts such as crossing the midline, bilateral co-ordination (two hands at once), directionality, hand-eye co-ordination, balance, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, focusing on hand preference and lateralisation (right hemisphere controls left, left hemisphere controls right), motor control, motor planning, rotary movement (turning), self-regulation (emotional and physical), visual motor skills and visual-spatial processing skills. You can expect a work out as well!
Early Learning Centres
Maggie Moo Music songs and sessions are the perfect complement to your pre-school, day care or early learning centre.
Maggie Moo Music is designed to cater to children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, with three different target age levels - Baby Moo (babies), Mini Moo (toddlers) and Maxi Moo (preschool/ kindergarten).
Maggie Moo Music is based around six loveable farmyard characters; Maggie Moo, Ollie Oink, Henry Horse, Doris Duck, Holly Hen and Barry Baa. The songs provide children with the opportunity to sing, dance, play games, copy actions and explore different instruments and materials while engaging in a whole range of developmental skills such as language, cognition, co-ordination plus improve on their gross motor, fine motor, sensory and visual abilities.
It can be challenging finding relevant enrichment programmes that link children’s activities and experiences with the Early Years Learning Framework. Maggie Moo Music can provide centre directors with a document that shows how our program meets all five of the EYLF learning outcomes.
We suggest an initial demo session so that you may experience the value these sessions could bring to the children at your centre. Please call or e-mail Kellie for more information (details on the upper right hand side of this screen).
